Day 1 - Santiago, Chile
Saturday, January 24, 2027

For just one day, we’ll say hello to the neighboring Chile as our journey begins in Santiago! A beautiful city with so much to see, so don’t hesitate to come a few days early if you’d like.

We have strategically chosen Santiago Chile as our entry point for Argentina. Break out the map and it will all become clear. The only thing separating Santiago from Argentina is a quick trip over the Andes Mountain Range!

Registration kicks off in Chile today, but don’t get too comfortable. We leave bright and early on Day 2 for ARGENTINA!

Day 2 - Aconcagua and Mendoza
Sunday, January 25, 2027

Depart early for a scenic bus ride from Santiago, crossing the Chile-Argentina border to Mendoza. Upon arrival, we begin our first hike, run, or race at the base of Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Americas. Aconcagua stands tall at almost 23,000 feet (aka 7,000 meters)! This stunning location offers breathtaking views and a perfect start to our adventure. After our exercise is accomplished, we’ll enjoy a traditional Argentine Asado BBQ – the single-best introduction to the region’s local culture and cuisine.

We’ll settle into our hotel this evening – our home for the next two nights. Dinner is at the hotel along with announcements to set us up for an amazing Day 3!

Day 3 – Mendoza and Winery Tours
Monday, January 26th, 2027

Start your day back on your feet for hike/run/race #2. This one is through the picturesque vineyards and landscapes of Mendoza, who is recognized for producing some of the world’s best wines. After the run, visit one of Mendoza’s renowned wineries for a tasting session, spectacular lunch at a vineyard, and a chance to relax and savor some of Argentina’s finest wines.

This is our last night in Mendoza, so the evening is yours. Get to bed early or indulge in Mendoza’s nightlife. Get some rest, though. Tomorrow we make our move south to BARILOCHE and the Seven Lakes Region!

Day 4 – Flight to Bariloche
and the Seven Lakes Region

Tuesday, January 27, 2027

This morning we take our first internal flight, two hours south, to the stunning lakeside town of Bariloche! After landing, lace up for Walk/Run #3 as we travel through the famous Seven Lakes region. This path offers spectacular views and an introduction to the natural beauty of Patagonia.

After our race, you’ll have a handful of hours to enjoy the afternoon in Bariloche. This entire area is known for its lakes and stunning scenery so there will be plenty to see and take in. If you’ve still got gas in the tank, maybe biking or kayaking is on the agenda?!

Check in asap or have the front desk hold your bags for a while. You’re on your own this evening so explore, enjoy, and relax.

Day 5 – Seven Lakes Region
and San Bariloche

Wednesday, January 28th, 2027

Embark on Walk or Run #4, set against the backdrop of the majestic Andes mountains and sparkling lakes. After our lake run, we’ll enjoy a packed lunch, before setting sail on a fjord tour! The ship we’ll be boarding is the perfect way to take in cascading waterfalls, crystal blue lakes, and the summer season of Patagonia!

After a full day on and around the lakes, it’s time to head back for dinner and announcements at the hotel. Our two-night stay will be coming to a close shortly, but don’t worry, because our next 2-night stay is even further south, deep into Patagonia!!!

Day 6 – Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego
Thursday, January 29, 2027

We’ll start the day early in Bariloche so we can make our way onto our second internal flight, into Tierra del Fuego. Tierra del Fuego is an archipelago at South America’s southernmost tip, shared by Chile and Argentina. It’s known for its dramatic landscape of snowy mountains, glaciers, tundra and dramatic jagged peaks. Its main island, Isla Grande, is home to the Argentine resort town of Ushuaia – our home for the next two nights. This town is sometimes called “the End of the World.” The only thing further south of Ushuaia is Antarctica itself!

The journey down south is a sizable one, so no timed run or race today. But we’d be crazy not to hike a glacier, right?! We’ll take the afternoon to check out one of Tierra del Fuego’s famed glacial hikes. That or you can cozy up to a fire and greet us upon our return.

We’ll all gather for dinner tonight. The typical congregation and excitement will continue per usual.

Day 7 – Train to the End of the World!
Friday, January 30, 2027

Wait. There isn’t really a train to the end of the world…is there? YEP! There sure is! And you can bet we’ll all be on board this morning for our fifth and final race (aka Run #5)! The train takes us deeper into the National Park of Tierra del Fuego.

Take in the views and really, take in all that life has to offer. On this last little piece of exercise, we’ll encourage you to reflect on all that’s been accomplished this week. Santiago Chile will likely seem like forever ago.

It’s dinner at the hotel tonight, but maybe a walk along the wharf is in order before saying goodbye to Ushuaia. With a sunset at 10pm in January, that just seems like the right thing to do. Pack your bags before bedtime because tomorrow it’s time to reach our final destination – Buenos Aires!

Day 8 – Buenos Aires
Saturday, January 31, 2027

Our third and final internal flight will bring us to one of the most beautiful cities this world has to offer. We’ve got one day here together, so let’s make it count! We’ve arranged for a guided bike tour through the city, to really see as much as we can inside a few short hours. We’ve had bike tours like this in Munich and Amsterdam. This one will not only be equally exciting and educational, but we’re pretty positive it’s going to be a bit more safe and tame than the bustling streets of Amsterdam during the Euro Cup!

We’ll leave enough time for an easy check in to the hotel, an opportunity to put on your fancy(ish) clothes, and then it’s time for Race2Adventure’s momentous final party! The recap reel will air live, awards will be given, and then it’s time to dance the night away, for tomorrow brings our journey to an end. For some, it’s time to retire and get sleep for the flight home. Others will take Neil Young’s advice to burn out rather than fade away.

Day 9 – Depart for home
Sunday, February 1st, 2027

Was Santiago just yesterday or like a year ago? Not sure we’ll have a full grasp at that very moment in time. But the reality is that inside just one week, we were in Santiago Chile, the wine country of Mendoza, the Seven Lakes Region and Bariloche, Patagonia’s Ushuai and Tierra del Fuego, and Buenos Aires.

Who does that? WE DO! AND MAN WE’RE GOING TO HAVE THE BEST TIME DOING IT TOGETHER!

See you all very soon. With multiple experiences in 2027 and HUGE plans for 2028, we hope it is sooner rather than later. The beauty of R2A is that we get to have life changing experiences all over the world together. Don’t be a stranger, and in return, we’ll keep issuing ridiculously amazing itineraries like these.
